MURFREESBORO – June 13, 2018 – Mayday Brewery is expanding their number of beers on tap and adding other choices as well. The expansion happens on Saturday June 23rd, and not coincidentally it is also the birthday of Head Brewer Kelsey Nelson. Mayday invites everyone to come celebrate the tap expansion and Kelsey’s birthday on Saturday June 23rd. My Roots Curbside Culinary will be on hand for hungry beer drinkers, and the fun will continue from 7-9pm with Aural Fixation Karaoke.
In addition to the doubling the number of taps, Mayday will also be offering crowlers for the first time. A crowler is a 32 ounce can of beer that you can take home. Customers can pick from any beer on tap to put in the new crowler which is canned right before their very eyes.
Head Brewer Kelsey Nelson is excited about the tap expansion saying, “It’s been a long time coming. Murfreesboro drinkers are always looking for new and unique beers, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to show off what we’ve been doing at Mayday.” Since upgrading the small batch brewing system last year, Nelson explains “The new setup is so fun to use, I try to brew between 3-5 new beers a week in addition to keeping up with core styles and the growing number of seasonal beers our brewery offers.” She continues, “Obviously, it is my birthday, so I have made myself a Birthday Cake Beer (a milk chocolate dessert stout)!”
Saturday June 23rd, Mayday will launch the expansion with 11 open slots for small batches plus a cold brewed coffee and seltzer water - all made it house. “People should expect the starting lineup to be primarily IPAs and Sours, which are my favorite styles and great for a hot summer birthday, but we’ll transition into darker beers as the season changes to fall.”
